The agreement, in plain words
The ground rules that keep NotAlone safe, kind and fair for everyone.

1. Welcome
These terms govern your use of NotAlone. By creating an account or using the platform, you agree to them. We've kept them human and readable on purpose.
2. What NotAlone is — and isn't
NotAlone is a human connection platform for conversation, community and events. It is not a therapy, counselling, medical or crisis service, and our companions are trained listeners, not licensed professionals.
If you are in crisis or in danger, please contact a local emergency number or professional helpline immediately.
3. Who can use it
You must be 18 or older to book conversations or become a companion. You agree to provide accurate information and to keep your account secure.
4. Community Code of Conduct
Be kind, be respectful, and protect each other's privacy. Harassment, hate speech, solicitation and sharing others' private information are not tolerated and may result in suspension.
5. Companions
Companions volunteer their time and agree to confidentiality, training and a background review. Companions are independent volunteers, not employees of NotAlone.
6. Payments
Free and paid options are available. Where you choose a paid plan or donation, charges are processed by our payment partners and are subject to their terms. Paid plans help fund free conversations for others.
7. Limitation of liability
NotAlone is provided on an 'as is' basis. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for the actions of users or companions, or for outcomes of conversations. Use your judgment and stay safe.
8. Changes & contact
We may update these terms from time to time. We'll post changes here. Questions? Write to us any time — we're listening.
