Your privacy, protected by design

Plain-language answers to how we handle your data. No fine print, no surprises.

1. Our promise

At NotAlone, your privacy isn't a checkbox — it's the foundation of trust that makes real conversations possible. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the control you always have over it.

2. What we collect

Account details you choose to share, such as a nickname, email, preferred languages and conversation preferences. You can use the platform anonymously with just a nickname.

Usage information like the events you join and sessions you book, used only to improve your experience and match you with the right companion.

3. How we use it

To match you with companions, run your sessions, send reminders, and keep the community safe. We never sell your data, and we never share conversation content with third parties for advertising.

4. Confidentiality of conversations

Conversations are private between you and your companion. Companions agree to a strict confidentiality clause as part of our Code of Conduct. Limited, anonymised metadata may be retained for safety and quality.

5. Your controls

You can view, edit or delete your profile, control who sees what through your privacy settings, and request deletion of your account and associated data at any time.

6. Security

We use industry-standard encryption and access controls to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, but we treat your data with the care it deserves.

7. Changes to this policy

If we make meaningful changes, we'll update this page and, where appropriate, notify you. Continued use of NotAlone means you accept the latest version.
