No. NotAlone is a human connection platform, not a substitute for therapy or medical care. Our companions are trained, caring listeners — not licensed therapists. If you're in crisis, please reach out to a professional or emergency helpline.

Companions are verified volunteers who've completed our active-listening training and a background review. They're everyday people who genuinely want to listen and help.

Yes. You're anonymous by default, you choose what to share, and conversations are private. You can block or report anyone, and you control your privacy settings.

You can start completely free. We also offer donation-based and membership plans — and paid plans help fund free conversations for people who can't afford them.

Anything on your mind — venting, celebrating a win, career, student life, parenting, relationships, loneliness, or just a random life chat. There's no wrong topic.

Apply through the 'Become a Companion' page. After a short application, background review and free training, you can set your availability and start listening.

The platform is fully mobile-responsive today, and dedicated iOS and Android apps are on our roadmap.
